Penalty

VXD lockers can unlock their assets prior to the end of the locking period. However, the protocol will retain a portion of their VXD as a penalty for early unlocking.

The amount of retained VXD is pro-rata with the remaining lock duration, calculated by this formula:

$$VXD_{retained}=VXD_{locked}\frac{t_{remaining}}{t_{total}}$$

$t_{remaining}$: the remaining lock time (in seconds)

$t_{total}$: the total lock time (in seconds), equivalent to 24 weeks if extended and 12 weeks if not.

The penalty accrued will be deposited into the treasury. If one’s VXD tokens have been locked for more than 1 epoch, that user will still be entitled to any unclaimed rewards up to the point of unlocking.
